Hi All Foamlings,

I came across something that made me decide to start a thread about
anything made from foam - or foam used as a major component.

Just to help show its versatility and how it can be used for many things.
And to help reinforce the idea of foam as a legitimate construction
material when and if applied/used correctly...

Plans! We don't need no stinking plans!!

But this guy is selling plans for D-I-Y foam kayaks. We build teardrops, I'm sure we can do it without buying plans. :thinking:

And probably prettier as well.

If you are going to build a bunch of foam stuff, you will need a Foam Cutter

Or maybe you need a CNC foam cutter!

Cliff, although I built the jigsaw type foam cutter , the hot wire bow was actually used much more ... and you can do gravity cutting too ...

Here's a link to a Japanese Co. that makes Foam domes for use as

It's still the same principal of foam as the core/shape maker and the
strength being in the "skins" [also in the shape too]. Good insulation
values are a bonus.

Wow, combining two Items of interest here: Domes and Foam.

Guess we should have let the Japanese develop Foamie trailers... They seem to have it all worked out ...

We built our house using the ICF's. If I had it to do over again I would figure out a way to use more of it.

All four exterior walls and two interior load bearing walls are foam. It is quiet and is easy to heat and cool. Our's is also a berm so half way underground as well.

Foam on!

It just looks that way, I'm just a strummer. I play that way because I don't have a right arm from the elbow down and that is the only way I can reach the strings. :lol:
