Went to a wedding in NJ recently. At the reception the oldest sister got up to give a toast. Fiddling with the microphone trying to confirm that she was being heard she commented, "You really have to put it in your mouth." To which I replied, "Best marriage advice ever". (bah-dump-bump)

Struggling with "life issues" and having a lull in motivation. Sometimes I feel like "there's a hole in the bucket". Need to shake it off and get "tucked" back in.

Yup, I'm a slacker.

On another thread (the foam compatible spray glue thread) GPW asked if there was anyone still using sleeping bags. I didn't want to go further off topic there, but will share here (again?) that it has kind of always been my plan to outfit TPCE with, non-standard bedding. Rather than sheets and blanket, I want to put a good durable fabric mattress cover on the mattress and use a queen sized sleeping bag sort of like this one: Fahrenheit Mammoth.

For me camping (even kids sleepovers) started out in my parents old flannel lined canvas shelled rectangular sleeping bags; the kind where you could zip two together and make a double. In moderate temperatures they are much more comfortable than a nylon shell down mummy, and I like to be able to unzip the side zipper all the way to my ankles so that I can hang a leg out to regulate temperature if I get too warm.

I think this will make "making the bed" much easier because I won't have to worry about tucking sheets in, and the "bedding" (bag) will be all one piece so it should go in and come out much easier than sheets and blanket.

Now if I could just find one with a more durable cotton/canvas outer shell; that synthetic taffeta tends to snag and pull too easily for my rough hands.

I think I owned that sleeping bag a few years back. It was a great bag, loved it. Nice and warm and roomy for two. We used it for many years tent camping and RV bedding, but finally the zippers gave way. I notice now that it has a lifetime warranty.....

Anybody ever think about making their own sleeping bag ... ??? Maybe with Velcro instead of zippers ... ? Just a thought ... we make everything else ...

Well what'da know? I actually worked on the camper this evening! It felt good to get back in the loft, despite it being to do body work.

I hadn't been looking forward to dealing with those big sags that I got when trying to apply thickened epoxy filler to the rear portion of the street side wall fiber glass weave. I thought the thickness would have been good enough for the amount of tilt I put on the cabin (versus trying to do a pure vertical application) but, as you may recall, it worked against me.

The best method of dealing with the sags turned out to be using a small hand plane (one that I am less fond of) to shave most of the highs down. Then a lot of long board. Some medium board for the detail work around the marker and porch light wires, and along the edges. Then the palm sander with felt pad to scuff up all of the low areas so that the next round of filler has some tooth to grab onto.

It was a lot of sanding and it's not close to 'good enough' yet. Figuring that the rear part of each wall is about 2/3 to 3/4 of each wall, and that the front wall and hatch are about the same as a wall; if they each take 2 to 3 rounds of filler and sanding, then I only have to do this 20 to 30 more times before being ready for primer. Is that sarcasm? Probably not.

So with this in mind and not trusting that I won't get more sags, it starts to look more and more like it would be worth the effort to flip the cabin on its side to get a flat surface to work on.

KC I am the same way. Been dragging my feet on body work. Your hand sanding so I know I wouldn't be as far along as I am. No way I am hand sanding this much body work. I get cold chills just thinking of hand sanding.

Do like I have been doing. Start on body work. When the bore dome sets in. Move to another part of the project that needs work.
