page 251
-EaglesDare bought at trailer with a 2x6 board floor, many ideas about how to remove/build on the floor

page 252
-tongue weight discussion

page 253
-use a bathroom scale under the tongue with the trailer level to find out if you have a good tongue weight.
-using gorilla glue to join foam panels
-pre-canvasing the foam before assembly suggested (earlier we learned it can be bent without breaking this way as the canvas takes all the tension and the foam compresses)

page 255
-another report of an old wood boat with canvas and varnish that was impossible to remove many years later, and the would was sound underneath (the warner paint eater will take care of any paint, canvas, or fiberglass and not touch the wood, I stripped a boat 5 years later and could still read the pencil marks on the plywood like they had never been painted over)

page 256
-great stuff (GS), great stuff for sticking foam panels together and sticking them to anything else. the poster stated he worked with the GS for a while (margarine like consistancy) before sticking things together so it didn't expand and ruin the joint (GS and GG are basically the same stuff, GG is much more concentrated)
(GS cans says it is a one shot deal, once you use the can the aplicator tip ends up full of cured foam. the trick is to unscrew the tip and dunk it in kerosene (other solvents may work but I get it for free) )
(you can shape the GS while wet. get a nitrile glove (blue in most hardware stores) and a cup of kerosene, dip you fingers in the kerosene and use it to lube and cut the surface of the foam to what you want) (used this many times to control the shape of GS sealing vents on airplanes, paint any exposed surfaces or UV will destroy the GS)

page 260
-look for a local recycle place or eco-nut devoted to reusing every possible thing to find foam for cheap or free (craigslist possibly also)

page 262
-marmoleum-Battleship linoleum, for inside skin of tear

page 263
-PICTURE OF A LOW FLYING TURKEY THAT DESTROYED A FOAMIE!!!! :frightened: :frightened: :frightened:

page 266
-use a section of thin wall pipe, sharpen the end and you have the perfect way to make holes to glue in dowels (shelf supports etc.)
-sun room floorng made from aluminum sandwiched in powder coated aluminum for trailer floor?

page 268
-foam/al panels are $3.40/sq ft. (for the money I would fully encapsulate good old plywood with marine 2 part epoxy, inert enough for real boat building that way)

page 269
-Iron plastic shopping bags to foam to make a SIP type floor or walls link http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2010/ ... gs_to.html
-aluminum flooring could oxodize and fail (not too likely, the oxidization stops the electron process breaking down the surface, unlike rust that continues it)
-plastic bags iron to foam, but peel off way to easy. they iron to themselves just great (UHMW plastic is made this way, super tough wear properties great for snowmobile skids, hovercraft, and motorboat keel protectors) (not sure about tear floors though and way to heavy for walls) (it glues and cuts just like wood)
-just kiddingabout the bird taking out a foamie  , it is a turkey embedded in a truck windshield, so it won't get the foamie... it may get your car! :NC

Hello! I've been stalking the foamie stuff for awhile now for my first TD build. And I have a LOT of questions, most answered/explained within the text, but where are these pages this thread is talking about? Please bear with me as I step into virgin territory,...thanks!

Fyi page 47 equates with post 700, so if the page numbers aren't lining up for you they are based on roughly 15 posts per page. YMMV

Yes, the stuff from page 47 was on page 200 when I was using Tapatalk on my tablet. On my PC it was also different. I don't know what causes it to be different, but it is.
