I appreciate all the comments !
Thanks everybody !
I've been trying to learn a drawing program.
So far I've come up with this. I haven't had a chance to try any of the suggestions yet... (other than the two tone)
Hopefully early next week, I'll get a chance to play around.

Looks great. I see that you are going with the traditional wing theme from the '50's. If so you might try a Z line instead of the straight line for the two tone. It was quite popular at the same time as the wings. Usually the Z pattern was higher in the front and low in the back.

Actually, I just found a great site with the example I was talking about.

Hope that helps.

Paint schemes should reflect your inner personality ... It’s how you want others to see you ... same way you pick the clothes you wear ... Your “Image” ... Think carefully before you paint ... or you may end up with something that looks like an Obese Parakeet ... :o .. an artistic opinion , not meant to offend , only inform ... ;) You have to admit , it would be CUTE huh !!! :D

OK, time to get serious about this color business... Tac, what are your favorite colors ? Do you want something subtle or very Visible ?

Mickey ... yes , why of course ... :D

Gazillions of color choices .... one only has to go to the a paint store to see the wall full of color choices/swatches/chips ... Although there are only 3 basic colors and 3 secondary colors ... that’s it ... and all colors are made from those 6 ... :o It’s just the many mixtures of them that gets complicated . Then there’s white and black, further complicating the subject with tints, tones and shades :frightened: ... white is all the colors mixed together (light , not pigment) and black is the absence of color ... artistically speaking ..

Tac, pick a color ... any color , and we’ll run with that (by request) ... ;)

GPW,
I like the vivid colors, and do like the yello/blue combo, but am not locked into it.

Here's my latest attempts.

Here’s a little variation with your colors , by introducing a “fade” it gives the effect of illumination ... just another idea ... people will see it coming !!!
One thing we try to do is pick a dominant color (more ) and then a secondary color (less) which will merely accent the dominant one .. Usually all warm colors with just a soupçon of cool color , or reversed... All in the effect you wish to achieve...

I like the z line but I think I'd like to see it a bit more exaggerated

big Pink , canvas !

Postby tac422 » Sat Aug 10, 2013 8:36 pm

I finally got a chance to get a little work done...'
Cut a square hole in the foam to have a hard point to mount a light, and ran electrical for the outside light. I used a router, and then squared the corners with a knife. I used a piece of 14 gauge extension cord, it will go to a switch on the inside.
This is the top of the door, and the top of the window.
110839

here it is with the wood insert, (not shown: I used 2 screws in from the bottom, and 2 from the side and gripper to secure everything.)
110838

I covered the bottom in canvas, wrapped around the bottom, and glued to the canvas on the inside. under the canvas is bullnose molding on the outside and square molding on the inside. (anybody guess what the wheel in the picture goes to ?)
110836

Installed the side canvas: it overlaps the bottom by about an inch. I didn't want any visable seams, and the canvas is only 6' wide. Otherwise I would have wrapped it around the bottom. I trimmed the sides at the edge of the molding.
