Am I the only person here old enough to expect to see this when The Big Pink is being discussed?

Finally finished the door and slide install. Cooled it right down :)
I'll cut some foam to fill in the holes on the sides when the AC is in use.
The door is easily removed, so I'll just remove it when using the AC.

Next up is adding some DC lighting.

For an air conditioner that will cool a normal size room , we’re trying to cool a well Insulated space a quarter of that ... Should cool right down very quickly ... Could get even COLD !!! 8) Much appreciated on these HOT summer days ... 8)

Tac, the real question is ... what color IS your trailer ... In the daylight ? ... Don’t look Pink to me ...

It's been about a month since I updated...
But some work has been done to the TD. :)

The Big Pink is now sporting a rear bumper complete with shock mounts, (pix to come)
and the pinstripes are finally done.( I was waiting to finish up some touchup painting.)
The AC install is complete, and the trailer lights have been rewired.

I replaced all the previously installed 115 wiring, and added 12V DC wiring.
The 12v powers a LED light and the fan as well as two 12V "accessory " plugs (for cell phones and such )
123411

The DC has 3 possible power sources, the toggle switch is for 1 and 2 below.
1. When the TD is plugged in 115, a robust 12v laptop power supply is hard wired in.
2. When hooked to a tow vehicle, it's tapped into the trailer wiring.
3. When boondocking, a battery can be connected.

I went camping at Top Sail Island, NC last week.
123727 123724 123725

On the way home, I was able to weigh The Big Pink
123719

It weighed 1000 lbs exactly on the scale ( The scale is certified to be within 20 lbs.)
123718

That's fully loaded with the refrigerator, AC unit, spare tire, hydraulic jack, jack stands, loaded cooler, 4 folding chairs, a popup tent ,luggage etc...

I took out the cooler, and the spare and quickly shed 60 lbs. So I'm figuring 900 lbs basic configuration.

I was concerned about how much air to put in the tires, so I aired the tires to 40 PSi as a best guess to see how they would do. It worked great, I'd check the hubs and tire surface when we stopped, and they were just barely warm after running at highway speeds for a couple hours. Much cooler then when I pull my motorcycle trailer.
The TD pulled fine. Every once in awhile, there was just an almost imperceptible tugging. The TD was loaded the most it had ever been.
We had a spare tire, spare hub, loaded cooler, rug, suitcases, 4 chairs, popup tent, etc, as well as the refrigerator, Air conditioner, coffee pot, toaster oven, etc
This is the third camping trip, and the first with the AC installed. The AC was great, we were right on the water, and it was humid and hot.
It cooled down quick, and the fan running acted as "white noise" to drown out the traffic going over the bridge nearby.
The campsite was right next to the bulkhead, we went fishing off the campsite picnic table. Some of the locals had shrimp traps next to the bulkhead, and were happy to share as they emptied them in the morning.. Friends had rented a house nearby on the beach to celebrate their 39th anniversary, so we used their stove/oven and feasted on fresh flounder, mackerel, trout and shrimp.

We had a great time, and while there are a couple future "upgrades" I wanna do, I'm calling The Big Pink done !
