That molding is adding to the looks... Looks great even without canvas.

The molding is giving a very nice finished look to it. Nice job. I can't wait to see the canvas go on the body.

Thanks for all the comments !!

Today I got the molding on the other side. I used great stuff to fill the damage on the top, and glue the molding down ...
Man, that stuff just keeps growing ! The great stuff doesn't stick to the plastic very well, which helped with cleaning it up.
(I still have to do the innner molding under the "skirt".)

big Pink ... paint suggestions ? please !

Postby tac422 » Thu Aug 01, 2013 12:20 pm

I'm not able to work on the foamie for the next several days. So I'm doing some planning on paper.
I've figured out how I'm going to do my wiring (embedded in the foam before I cover it with canvas.)

But now I'm thinking about a color scheme to paint it, and would welcome any suggestions.
Anybody willing to give it a shot ? I have some ideas in mind, but don't want to influance any thoughts other people might have.
The wilder the better, maybe adding some little foam wings ? or a fin ?
I will be putting an old wooden steamer trunk on the tounge.

I attached some drawings for your convienance :)

I think a nice two tone would work well. Or a mural wrapped around the sides and incorporating your steamer trunk.
Remember, the turtle won. :)

Tac, we tried to use your drawing in Paintbrush to play with some designs , but the colors wouldn’t fill in ... :o

Pick your Favorite colors , pick a theme... run it up the flagpole and see if anybody throws frozen turkeys at it ...

If it was painted in a basket weave pattern (think picnic basket), do you think it would attract bears?

I like that idea, but one would have to have GPW painting skills to pull it off. It would be waaaayyyy cool
