The miracle of math! I used the example in the foam letting thread. It actually has me day dreaming of an all foam hatch.

Thanks for all the nice words. It will not be a work of art like KC's TPCE. But I really like how it is coming along. I just wish I had more time to work on it.

Tomorrow I am ordering hinges and draw latches and things. Also in the evening I hope to get the last of my bulkhead pieces cut and the hardpoints for my bungee net hatch covers glued in. So that Friday night I can canvas them.

Hardiness hard points in the walls and ceilings for trailer and functional lighting and draw latches and such are all that are between me and canvas.

I've been away for a while so I'm playing catch up here. That window looks great!!! I was somewhat skeptical about a window that size but now that it's in place, I think it looks very cool. You're making great progress. I think you're suffering from the same issue that every anxious TD builder has had. There's not enough hours in a day... Don't worry you'll be done soon and enjoying your TD.

Well... it’s not supposed to be Art ... it’s a camper TRAILER eh ??? :o

LT, the idea of an All Foam hatch has always been the theoretical Ideal 8) .. Simple ,Ultra light , retains its shape , keeps the rain out ... I still firmly believe we can heat bend the foam (no kerf cuts needed) to achieve the contour for a really nice one piece hatch . How Cool would that be ... 8) You could even canvas hinge it , and that would contribute even more to the overall lightness of the trailer ... the lighter you make the camper , the more of Your stuff you can carry along ...
Having bent a Lot of 1/4” and 1/2” foam for model planes (see pic, looks like a camper with wings) , it’s so easy , and the foam once cooled stays in that shape forever, unless re-heated and bent another way ... Have to get the foam to 190F and bend over a form or jig of some type ... ;)

Thanks for the plug, LT. :D

Art is where you find it, like that model plane by GPW, or the way your big window works with your profile. Those things didn't happen by accident. To me that is art. It is all just time with the tools and trying to get the materials to do what you want them to.

Keep building and you will make it what you want it to be!

I can see it in my mind right now, that big window looking out on a nice waterfront campsite, sitting back sipping a nice hot cup of coffee while the morning mist wisps away and the sun comes up. Take a picture 'cuz that will be art!

To everyone who wants a giant window now, I have seen TONS of them on craigslist. The most expensive ones are $50 or so. Probably they're in slightly better shape than mine (my inner trim rings were all broken down (I just cut them off)). By the end of this weekend I will be ready to canvas the inside or I will be a sad sad pup. I'm doing the inside first, but I can't really say why other than then I can pop in my foam bulkheads and stop having to work around them in the garage.

I am thinking maybe peel and stick tile on the floor just to keep my air bed away from the OSB.

That means this weekend I have to trim GG ooze around the roof and floor.
Install wiring for third brake light (at least to puddle of wire under the trailer degrees of installed)
Cut and frame door opening.
Inlet for all necessary hard points for mounting lights, hinges, flip out cook surface. (I have a detailed sketch)
Finish headboard.
Fill divits and not so pretty bits around the windows/doors.

Then I am hoping to do the interior ceiling in one run from front to back. Then each of the two walls.

What is the lightweight spackle people have been using on the foam? I suppose I could also use great stuff for some of the less excellent work around the small window (which was my training ground for the bing window and the door.

Just a bit of advice on the peel and stick tile. It doesn't stick... at least not the brand I bought at the big orange box store and I bought a pretty high end tile. I ended up sticking the tile down with vinyl tile adhesive. That stuff will stick to ANYTHING. Use disposable tools cause its hard to clean off of anything it gets on.
