So, I'll bet you are wondering what I did today...
Well, first I built up the wheel wells...

Then I finished canvasing the inside...

Then I canvased the hatch...

I know it doesn't look like much, but it took 8 hours!!!

 it is progress, nice! BTW, how do you plan to protect the foam wall that is exposed to the wheel well inside?

Another hard day, and it doesn't sound like we did much again.

First of all, I framed in both doors. This took a ridiculous amount of time and energy. I was going to cut the top pieces on the cnc router, but opted to just do it with the jigsaw.

Image

Here's another view of those frames, with the doors dry fitted...

Image

We skinned the inside of the hatch. Since we ran out of canvas we used a piece of 8 oz canvas drop cloth from the orange box store.

Image

Finally, here's an outside view of the doors sitting in their new door frames.

Image

I was hoping to start putting on the TBII on the outside, but I was too tired. So I'll start with the TBII in the morning.

First coat of TBII is on all the exterior surfaces! Whew, it's going to be a hot one today, and humid too. Real Feel is going to be 91°.

let’s hope that was a well thinned coat to serve as a penetrating “sizing” .... that’s all you need , then primer and paint ...

Well, in spite of the heat, we got her painted. Wow, this is some interesting stuff, this aluminum paint. Tac was right, it's nice!

What do you guys think?

Mike,
Your latest creation looks awesome. The paint is fabulous! It almost had a vintage airplane look to it.
Take care,
Tom

Very '50's sci-fi looking. I suppose it will soften up a little in its appearance as it weathers some. Looks good, and another major milestone. There are ticking right by.

Wow. It looks great with the paint. The seams are really nice and even and crisp too. This build is going so fast it is making my head spin. I guess experience helps!
