Darn it all mike... Just re-read this and I'm re-re-re-thinking my impending foamie build back to a simple Benroy. The mad-dash is another inspiration build thanks!!

Ned,

Sometimes simple is better... but I definitely agree that light weight is better!!!!!

Did a little work on the new galley for the mad dash today...

If you look close, you can see the black baskets on the shelf... (There's 4 more on the other side of the wall for in the cabin use...)

Mike , just calling it as I see it (JMHO) ... what looks “Good" and is practically rendered cannot be denied . Thinking we all work towards a purpose... each individual to each owner... we celebrate our diversity and learn from our differences. :D :dancing :dancing :dancing :P

Mike , you have a “pass through” in the rear galley wall ? ... or what we prefer to call a “Beer door” ... just for inclement weather where you don’t want to go outside for a "cold one” ...

Glen,

No a beer door wasn't possible. I built the original shelf with the intention that it would be open. When Chell saw it, she said close it up. I ended up using 1/8" plywood so that the black baskets would still fit. There isn't even enough room for two sliding plywood doors...

So I guess if it's raining, I'll just have to grab a 6 pack and bring it inside...

Mike...

P.S. Surprised that no one asked about that top board that fell forward just as I was taking the picture... It'll be vertical when it's all done!

It's amazing how long drawers take to make...

We worked on the drawers today, for just over half a day... we were distracted by the run to the super market, the baby back ribs I had to smoke, the bird bath I had to set up, and the beer we had to drink. But distractions aside, we worked on the drawers for the galley of the mad dash. I didn't really have a plan... I just winged it. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. A couple drawer handles, and I think we'll be ready for the mix.

Tomorrow the plan is to add a shelf on the left hand side... as I understand it, the pots and pans go underneath. I have no clue what goes on the shelf above the pots and pans. :scratchthinking:
