Finally finished my build.
My Son and I took it out on it's 1st outing last weekend. I couldn't be more pleased with how it went. Everything worked as planned.
We went to a motocross race that was about 150 mile round trip. The trailer towed perfect. On the way home there were 15 to 25 mile winds and it didn't affect the trailer at all.

Here's a couple pics from the motocross track.

I really like this. You used a lot of great ideas on how to do the build and came out with what you wished for, some really cool concepts and a great look! Wow. I'm impressed!

RRJR, I just gotta’ say .... After reading all of this over again , you sure are due the new title ... “King of Thrifty “ !!! I thought I was Thrifty , but nooooooo !!! I must bow down to your superior skills of the "Fine Art of Salvage" ...  .... NICE , Simple , built in a small space (like most normal garages/sheds) , and those windows ... 8) You’ve really exemplified the “essence" of Foamies... Great Job !!! :applause: :dancing :shake hands:

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. We've taken it out to the race tracks a few times now and it has worked out great.

One of the greatest challenges for me was the lack of space in which to build. My Condo HOA rules state no working on vehicles and no trailer storage in the complex. I had to build everything inside of a single car garage and make sure none of the foam dust and other building debris escaped. I received 2 warnings during the build. One was for having the trailer outside in front of my garage the day I mounted the cabin to the trailer and the second one was because someone complained about dust on their car when I was doing the final sanding before paint

My 2 closest neighbors were very cool about me building the trailer. One let me use her sewing machine to make the cushions. Ours had just died and I was sewing the first cushion with needle and thread. The other one is a painting contractor. When he saw what I was doing and I explained the process, I never had to buy anymore paint. He probably gave me at least 6 or 7 gallons of paint that he had left over from jobs. As well as rollers and buckets.

As far as being thrifty, it was more out of necessity than a choice. It would have been much easier and faster to start with full sheets of foam.
