Using "the mix' on a wood fence.

Postby loaderman » Thu Jul 23, 2015 12:20 am

A little off topic but this is where I learned of "the mix".
My wife likes the look of the wood after it has rained so I wondered about using "the mix".
would it give me the wet look?

Thanks

Polyurathane is now latex here. What do you use for mineral spirits?

Where's "here?"

In the U.S, there's two types of polyurethane finish, oil based and water based. "The mix," as you may know is a thinned oil based poly. It's generally used to seal wood that isn't going to be exposed to U.V. rays. Thinning water based poly? Dunno about that. I'd suggest some kind of deck stain. Something made for the sun.
