first of two foamies

Postby robhwashington » Tue Sep 22, 2015 12:15 am

Hi everybody! Thank you for all that is shared on this forum! This has been a busy year for me however I have managed to start two super light foamy trailers. One for my wife as she is a member of "Sisters on the Fly" and she asked me to build her a trailer that she could pull behind her 92 Toyota Corolla wagon. The second one is for me to pull behind my 1985 Toyota Pickup. Both tow vehicles have small 4cyl motors so they needed to be very light! They both weigh under 600 lbs and are on Northern Tool 5x8 trailers. Decided to build them without galleys in the back for simplicity and less weight. Still have much tinkering to do on the inside but both have beds and are camping! I am going to try to post some pictures of the first one (my wife named it "Thumbulina"). I am out of town on personal business so I don't have my build pictures with me. I will try to post about the builds later. I just wanted to post something as I have been putting this off for month's.

Pic files are too big, I will try and resize them so I can post them.

On our first camp trip we averaged 35mpg over 300 miles, pulling it behind the Corolla! It pulled fantastic and had no problem on the hills or in the wind!
