Well I checked , and there’s very little chance of Ice fishing around here... so i went ahead and started making the fishing rods anyway .... here’s where we are now ... a little final sanding and painting and installing the rod part ...

My first experience with Beech .... what a Tough wood !!!

No chance of ice fishing around here, either. Almost all of the derbies have been canceled. The lack of snow or ice has already killed the economy for most of the north country. Even the mountains with snow are dying as nobody thinks of skiing, when you don't even have to wear a coat.
I still have my X-C skis in the car, but hope is fading

I saw that ... Pretty COOL, and extremely LIGHT ...

We had no freeze here this year and my garden is already starting to take off growing ... This time of year we’re usually pulling dead (frozen) plants and planting seeds...

Well just in case I finished my “Grumpy Old Men” replica Green Hornet , which my friends want to see used for catching Mr. Redfish (Channel bass) ... a little shorter rod .... and some Ice ...

If I was interested in fishing I would make a foam Bob house. This year many have had to take desperate measures to get them off thin ice our out of the water after one side broke through. You get fined if it sinks, per day, until retrieved.
With a foam house, even the floor, it would just sail to the shore.
For all that I love and build boats, I haven't fished since high school. I always caught fish. In fact I caught 3 of the nine reeled in on the deep sea party boat that day. It's just not my thing.

Row, Just FYI , we’d always only fish for food , and never take the life of an innocent for Sport or profit ... We Fish We Eat Fish We Talk Fish ...
But alas, we still don’t get to fish as much as we’d like to ... we need to make a Big Foamie Fishing boat (another thing on the endless list ) so we can avail ourself of the local waters, and not that far away at all ... I know we’ve talked about this before , but still nothing has happened .... as yet ...
