Well it seems like a good idea .... if you have ice ... I just thought of that as an excuse to make a Green Hornet ice fishing rod(see pic) ... Although the chances of Ice fishing here are slim ( to NONE) Seems like a Foamie shanty would be Light and WARM !!! Cheap too ...

Wouldn't it be an icicle rather than a teardrop? It would be around here anyway...

I was thinking of going ice fishing with my foamy-FRP teardrop. Now to decide.
Sit in the door with the propane radiant dog dish heater to my back or
Remove the mattress, add a cushion and cut a hole in the under bed storage box. Then sit inside on a cushioned seat.
With my foamy I even have 2" of foam in the floor and no therm breaks in the walls or ceiling(no wood)

It is that time of year when regular camping is not on the agenda, and it would be pretty cool for those of you fortunate to be able to do this, especially using a nice warm insulated structure .
One good reason for making the TD cabin detachable , for wheels , or a sleigh ... :o

Just replace the wheels with skis
Or rotating fender
Or 3 child sleds tied to the wheels and tongue. :D

Fishing has always been a part of our camping , including paying rather stiff out of state license fees just to do so ... Basically , I think all Senior Citizens should Fish for Free !!! :D 8)

I don't think any state other than your home state gives a break to anyone over 65. I think that Federal Licence should over ride and work but no such luck.

The foamie ice shanty sounds cool. Is anyone going to build one?

I have under bed storage (basement) in my TD. All I have to do is cut a hole in the storage floor and sit with my feet on the floor of the storage area.
A fish house with wheels and a galley. It is light enough that a couple of kid sleds tied to the tire should make it pull able by hand. Put the lid back on the storage area roll out a mat and sleeping bag to over night(camp)
Not a lot to change in make a teardrop into a fish house.

I went ice fishing once in North Dakota I love to fish but i think i will stick to warm weather fishing. I like the idea of skies under the tires though.
