Prince Rupert- we ran into a trailer issue but still had a lot of fun on the cold coast.

I agree!

We are hoping to some day travel north of the border to see your beautiful country.

Well, so far i broke a spring in the middle of nowhere in the yukon and half destroyed the tire when it happened. Now my lift system quit working and the paint is cracking in a bunch of spots on the outside of the trailer. Took 3 days but i finally got the springs replaced, still using the tire, nothing i can do about the paint, hope to try fix #1 on the lift cylinders tomorrow. Too late tonight. Just got to anchorage alaska and some other people helped us lift it up. Air mattress developed a bad leak, that needs to be remidied. And of course i left no time for breakdowns in our trip and had not planned for how terrible the roads are up here. Hadnt planned for how long setup and taketown would take on our trailer each day, hadnt planned on how long and often laundry would be... its been an interesting trip so far. Also had an oil consumption issue with the car that i caused. I fixed it but that created another issue, lol.

Nodrog wrote:Ahhhh- verry good! That's some really nice pics....I like the ones especially on the blog which will enlarge, fantastic scenery, miles of open spaces! Lots of bears in evidence, yikes! You must have bear safe food storage...hope the car engine is hanging in there, sounds like some oil leaking?
I suppose you can stop for a couple of days to get the vehicle running right if you need to....how long did you say you were taking to do this trip? What an amazing journey....thanks for posting your progress! Happy trails! Nodrog

Thanks! We store food in the car and trailer, as long as its solid sided its fine. If bears start going after people for food they get removed or killed fairly quickly.
I took care of the oil leak, no issue there now. Had to spend a couple hours on wheel alignment issues though. We were planning 3.5 months but now the kids are sick and our yonger son got hurt quite badly in dawson, yukon. He lost a lot of blood but luckily we were just across the ferry from the hospital and we were let to the front of the ferry line. Have to reconsider things now though. But thats why i havent had time for another update in a bit. Image

Wow... that is quite the gash. I am glad the little guy is ok. My youngest had a couple injuries similar to that when he was about that size. They bounce back quick.
