TiteBond II gallons needed ?

Postby rustytoolss » Mon Oct 03, 2016 9:39 pm

I'm building a Foamie TTT 9.5'x6'x6'. On average how many gallons of TiteBond II should be needed for the canvas work? I will be using 10 oz canvas on the exterior. And bed sheets (or canvas) on the interior. I'm buying supply's tomorrow . So I could use this information ASAP. Thanks :)
I can get the TirebondII for $15.93 a gallon.

So far I have used nearly 2 gallons on my build. Still have 3 interior walls to do, but I am confident that there is enough glue left for that. I thin my glue 50/50 with water so you might keep that in mind if you plan to use full strength. I also used 2 gallons of gripper and exterior Latex paint. My build is 8'4"x5'4"x4'2". Good luck.

The titebond site recommends only adding 5% water to the glue, and that doing so will cut the viscosity by 1/2 for easier spreading. I can confirm that 5% water does make it spread a lot better. I didn't go any thinner than that. I used just over 2 gallons on my foamy which isn't as big as you're talking but I did the inside, the outside, and all my partitions (Probably another 16-20sq ft of surface) I sanded and peirced my foam, and used linen that was fully wet out but I didn't bother trying to fill the weave or anything nuts like that.
