Don L. wrote:Generally it's good on the highway but there is a concern, occasional sway when a semi passes me especially if the road is not well maintained. I could live with it, but will try some different weight distributions and if it is still bothersome I may see about swayers.

I have not had it in any big crosswinds. It's kind of a heavy foamy. I'm thinking 1,200-1,400 pounds loaded maybe?

Another member here has mentioned a product called airtabs. Look them up and consider them for reducing trailer sway resulting from crosswind or semi's.

Currently working on my Foamie. Just got the plywood mounted to the frame (old popup frame). The exterior size of the cabin will be 76" wide/ 74" tall/ 116" (9'8") in length.

Does anyone know if this list of Foamies is still accurate? My build will exceed everything listed here and I need to be sure I am not pushing the limits too far. Overall dimensions will be 8' wide, 12' long, and about 6'6" high. I have recently designed in a bunch of radii to help both with strength as well as aerodynamics and of course to make building more challenging. Most of the front wall will have wood framing as there will be a fold out bed there. I have also been working on a stringer design to support the roof just to make me feel better.

This is the plan. Obviously the big radius can be seen, but there will also be about a 10" radius starting at the floor in the front and following up the front wall and continuing all the way back on the top.

There are a couple of larger ones on here from what I remember. I just don't remember the names of the builds.

Any more 'large cars' out there? I'm familiar with Big Pink, Bluebird, Road Foamie, and a few others. I am close to pulling the trigger on a foamie build on a frame from a 7 x 14 popup. I think I may go a tiny bit wider and maybe as much as a couple feet longer. Looking for some layout ideas and hopefully some grand success stories to bolster my confidence.
