Foamie Vardo or Sheep Herders Wagon

Postby alchemist77 » Sat Nov 12, 2016 1:04 am

I am looking for a tall, I'm 6'7", unit to build. Will be using an old pop-up frame. Initial plan is to lift the frame by moving the axle to the bottom of the spring. Extend the floor by at least 24", 12" on each end. Building a Vardo would let me push the walls out slightly, making a longer bed fit. (California King)
Sheep Herders camp has a small bowed section might not be enough to be comfortable.
Finally considering a Gypsy Caravan, could be 7' height for the length, utilize the bow, to expand the sleeping area, make most of the main construction of foam and Canvas. Has anyone done something like this before?

No, not yet.

I have pretty much every book, set of plans and resource available on Gypsy Vardo's . I would like to build one but thought I'd learn to crawl before walking and start with a teardrop. I think the teardrop will be easier to get rid off (sell) when I build the next one.

let me know if you want any information or plans.

Craig.
