You simply can't discuss flying turkeys without the WKRP clip.

For the love of god, I thought turkeys could fly...
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.

I would suggest the best prevention is not to store your foamie in a grain bin.

Maybe an idea to keep the camper clean of FOOD that might attract insects … a few crumbs can feed a lot of bugs …

The recent Fire Ant attack on the FoamStream , left several tiny holes through that 18oz. painted canvas , ( in two layers) , and while the Ants did mill around inside , they didn’t eat anything … On our #1 Plywood TD trailer we had some ants that actually bored into the plywood , leaving a fine "sawdust” material behind… I think they were after the Glue ... :frightened:

Have a fine trip to Alaska, Mary. There are some informational links in the Alaska section that you might find helpful.

Doubt you'll encounter any frozen birds in summertime Alaska, but be cautious about bears.
Alaskan ants do bore into foam insulation. So, if you see crumbling foam under your trailer, find the opening and use a nozzle to spray ant killer inside their tunnel.

If you are spending the winter, XPS (blue or pink) works well for an outhouse seat. I will attest that it will not break and that it will keep your backside warm even down to 58* below.

I would test any sprays out on a piece of scrape first. Who knows what solvent they use in bug spray and what it might do to foam?

You're right,KC. The ant spray that I've used doesn't effect XPS. But the carb spray was bad advice.
I removed it from the post.
