Problems with Foamies ...

My dad's company was building modular, stress-skin panel houses back in the 50s. They sold, shipped and constructed a bunch over to the Bahamas, like over 100. Those things went through multiple hurricanes and some were still standing last time I was there in the mid-90s. These were the old pre-fab houses, where the walls came in a container and the house was dried in within 1 day. Panels were thin plywood, heat glued and pressure formed to a honeycomb interior. Lightweight, cheap and unbelievably strong.

We found the two problems with building innovations were , convincing the Building permit Inspector , and finding experienced builders who are not locked into just the ONE (stick) way of building a house … Lots of builders/tradesmen are trained to do things only One way and are most reluctant to change … That and the ones that did , would Not follow the Plans exactly and resorted back to doing things the one way they knew how …
Just as difficult as convincing old school hard trailer fans that Foam will make a practical camper trailer… ( but that’s all been well proven by now eh !!! )
