You may want to try Foam with wood edges …

I was thinking of something similar. I think I might try the foam with wooden edges, but also sandwich the foam between two pieces of 1/4 ply with the outer piece having about an inch overlap all the way around. Then just attach some weather stripping to the inside of that for a seal.

That should work , but you don’t need all that plywood , unless you really like it !!! You must build it the way You like to … ;) :thumbsup:

..we covered over the foam and wood edges with a heavy Kraft paper , then added the canvas and paint over that … 6 years and counting living outside ... :thumbsup:
