Question on fill compounds over foam

I've read of folks using spackle to fill dents or small holes. Curious if anyone has used Dura-bond compound with sucess?

My intent is to edge the with a drywall bullnose bead like this.

I did read a thread of another using some like this, but from the pictures I don't think it was coated..

I would need to coat the bead so the perforations don't show through the skin.

The Big Pink thread used something similar. He might pipe in on this. I do believe he glued it on with Gripper, but not sure how he filled the holes.

I have had great results using the Fast and Final spackle to do the filling of voids and dimples in my builds.

I would use the same primer/adhesive as below, mixed with a tested-compatible filler

powdered talc
cabosil fumed silica
glass bubbles aka microspheres

Believe that's where I saw the bullnose being used. If so, I sent a PM to learn if he did. I did read he glued on with GC. By the picture I saw.. well, I'm not sure he coated to fill the perforations in the nosing.

I came in to check my posts and read this. I just finished sampling out a few areas with Dura-bond.

I ran out before I got to by 90 corner sample. I want to sample this against what I did with the GC. Thought is simple: Use mesh tape (fiberglass) with Dura-bond over.

So far the Dura-bond is sticking without bubbling. Have a fairly thick coat and some skim coating done. It's Dura-bond 90, so it has some open time.

What the hey, seems no one else tried this so here comes the experiment.

I just saw this ..
I did not fill the perforations, or feather the edges of the molding. The perforations don't show through the canvas.

I did fill in the holes and smooth the edges of the corner bead on my build.

I used Menards version of vinyl spackling.

I wanted the walls and seams to be as smooth as practical on my build, so I primed the foam, then put on the spackle, then primed over that again. Then, I wrapped the roof canvas over the edge of the walls, and when that was dry, spackled the edges of the canvas smooth. After priming that, I put the wall canvas on, but cut that right at the corner for a neat finish.
