I put a wanted ad in Craigslist and a fellow emailed me with some. Once in a while I have seen someone selling some on craigslist or wanting an old rotted out camper hauled away.

A friend of mine sells replacement windows. He carries around small demo models of different windows. When the new models come out, so do the new demos. I used demo windows for my build.
Call you local window replacement business and see if they have any demos that they are willing to giveaway or sell cheap.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I wanted jalousie windows for a retro look. I only found reasonable priced examples when I searched "shed and playhouse windows". The kicker is these Windows have tempered safety glass in them.

I like the jalousie windows a lot too. They keep the rain out when open and allow air flow through the entire window whereas sliding windows can only open up half of the window.
