High sped cable, and love it!...though it could always be a little faster...

Since I'm a market timer, I need access when ever I want it available... so in the bad old days, I had a 2nd dedicated phone line ($$) and MSN ($$) years ago.

Then cable became available for less than the 2nd phone line & MSN as my ISP.... Now I can keep 3 computers running at the same time... The computers are pretty weighted down with software, so it could be faster, but it works very well most times.

ONce in a while I go to my brothers house and use his dial-up (doggy) and AOL (another Woof).. what a pain... If I still smoked, I could go out and have a cigarette while some of it loads.

High speed cable, gotta have the speed!!!

Once you get used to it (takes all of 5 minutes) there is no going back to dial up!

I still am on dial up! I guess I can't justify spending the money on the other stuff. I pay $120 a year for unlimited.(I spend it on other goofy toys) I really don't have anything all that exciting I need to be quick for. The only time I would like it is for the video aspect.

My dad is retired and was thinking about going high speed and decided against it because he wouldn't anything to do during the day. Right now he is kind of snowed in on a mountain in Montana.

I maybe going wireless for a laptop soon. The campground I got a seasonal site at has free wireless. If anyone has a good suggestion on what computer to buy PM me. Good price point and does everything and loud enough speakers you can hear it in a car.

Bellsouth DSL connection

Just tested it: downloads at 1601 kbps, uploads at 250 kbsp today anyway.

We used to have Roadrunner cable service several years ago in South Florida and it would rarely top 640 kbps, usually much slower in the winter as the seasonal population increased.

So what's your download speed?

Cable, it's fast. Like a marsupial!

MJ,

Does cable really download that fast, or is that the sales hype number?

1mb = 1024 kb, so your 5mbps would be a download speed of 5270 kbps?

(I think I've forgotten most of this stuff, seems the more trouble you have with your internet provider, the more you know)
