Camping weather

Curious about the kind of weather you don't like to camp in.

For example I don't like to camp when it's very windy,raining or cold.

I go camping to relax and enjoy myself.

Hard to do that with the above three conditions. Arthritis doesn't mix well with damp cold weather. And a very windy day can play havoc with tarps.

I find it really hard to sleep when I'm cold.

I couldn't check all of the above, otherwise you would never get out camping in Alberta. I picked snowing but I would also include cold and windy.

Doesn't matter what the weather is. Any time I'm camping is good.
I do love camping in a good rain storm as long as it doesn't last the whole stay. Haven't done any snow camping since my tenting days with the military but I'd even be game for that with the tearedrop.

I pretty much don't care what the weather is, I go camping to have fun. I did pick rain, but it really it depends where I am camping if I was going to the mountians then I don't like it to be raining, because everyting in the brush is wet and it take a 2 or 3 days for it to dry, now if I was going to the beach in an hour everything is realitivly dry so I don't mind the rain to much. Now I don't have my tear built yet, but I would use the tear more the nicer weather and my 5th wheel or camper for the nastier weather.

Fishing in the rainy weather is always good for fishing.

I'd prefer not to camp when it's raining but I'll put up with anything to get out with nature a little bit.
The teardrop makes it all so much easier.

The temperature is not a major problem, although if I had a choice between cold and hot, I'd take hot. The A/C gets me through it.

I think a majority of us would camp in a wide variety of weather just to be there with other teardroppers. I know I would.

Don't think I would want to camp in a hurricane. A little of any condition isn't too bad. Wouldn't have thought so before the tear drop though. A warm (or cool) dry bed can make a difference. Tents don't do to good in a hail storm, found that out a couple of years ago in the Rockies. Afternoon nap time, hail storm beat the weatherproofing off one side of the tent, then it rained hard for an hour filling the tent floor with water. Now that's camping!

I put snowing, but you really didn't have my choice down. I don't like camping when it is cold AND wet. Cold I don't mind, wet I don't mind, but cold and wet is not fun.

I don't like setting up or taking down when it's wet either. Once I'm set up though (I still tent camp), I don't mind a little rain. It's kind of nice sitting under the EZ-Up when it's raining just chillin'

Since my work requires us to sometimes sleep and live in the open graund mit no camper or even tents I get to be out in all kinds of weather. I camped in three tornadoes (one in a camper) and numers rain and snow sturms. I don't like cold und wet as I'm crippled und don't tollerate cold like I used to. But when you are miles from the road mit only a horse to carry you and your gear you don't have a choice.

I camp in all weather. Doesn't matter what it is - I'm out in it.

My Scout troop picked up a reputation for being a little crazy a few years back during a winter camporee. Temperature went below freezing (not counting wind chill of 10-15 mph winds), and snowed a few inches while we were out. Everybody else retreated to cabins while my troop stuck it out in tents.

We were camping this weekend and were disappointed at how little snow was on the ground. Then we got 6-7 inches Saturday night and everybody was happy. It was a pretty good weekend until the trip home.... My truck's currently at a backwoods body shop waiting to be towed back home I'll post up more about that later (and yes, I have some pics).

SmokeyBob, sorry for the delay in answering your question.

That picture was taken last Fall in Big Lake, Arizona. We got rained on every night and most of our stuff got wet. Luckily, we took our big tent and we had one side that stayed dry. The air mattrress kept us up and off the water in the tent as well.
