Ok folks how stringint are you. do you take notes so it you need to fix it you know what you did or are you the wild kind that that slaps it together and if it needs to be fixed you will deal with that then.

I started out with the sketch to the left, here...... Did a bit of doodling, but that was it... mainly, I tried to be sure this step was right, and the next one would fit..... each wall, floor, roof was a project unto itself... but the overall plan was a sketch on graph paper for the general outline.

I must be really sick! I do 1, 3, and 4.. I have a notebook full of plan mod's and sketches. You've seen my photo journals. I used to keep a written journal of projects, like the boats. Trouble is, I can spend as much time writing as I do building. I like doing the journals as a way to help others to learn. And to pay it forward, for all those who have liberally shared their experience.

I usually think about what I'm going to do and how to do it first. Paper is rarely involved unless I have to write down dimensions. When I finish that operation, I'll take a few pics and move on (back to thinking).

Steve, I think your method is probably best.. Putting things down on paper makes you think. And, drawing, the same.... and that gives you time to consider what the final product should be like.
