Where Do you Store your Teardrop.

I have 3 and they stay in different places according to there age.

This Poll may not give accurate results as living in a certain part of the country has a lot to do with this.

Happy Trails

Mine stays under a carport now. But I am starting a 40x50 barn pretty soon so to have room for all the toys and tools.

Mine is in the house garage and is worked on in the shop so it's exposed to the elements only while driving to and from and during camping. It would turn green like so many travel trailer do in Washington if left out doors. I have to remove moss out of North facing crevices on my pick up truck every year. Danny

I store mine in a garage. Except the first winter in which I tarped it outside. I was not happy with how it wintered and its unavalability due to where it was parked and the tarp.

For the most part it's kept in an un-heated garage but is also kept in a canopy building/tent. Right now it's on my drive way waiting to go camping. It all depends on what I have going on in the garage. Right now, building a teardrop (even kicked out the truck). :(

Mine is in an unheated garage. You mean people heat their garages?

My gets stored mostly under a canopy outside, in winter it goes in my neighbors un-heated garage.
Gotta work in mine so I can't keep it in there.

Even in Southern California my husband has a little space heater he uses sometimes when he needs to work in the garage when it's cold.
I wouldn't even want to guess how cold a garage gets in your neck of the woods. :o

I'm in the process of building mine in a 2 car unheated garage. I used to park my truck in there, but building is taking up the whole garage, so I park outside. When I get it done I'll move the truck back in until I get married next year and the SO will get to park her new car in there and my old truck will get put back outside. Oh well, at least the teardrop will have a nice place to sleep.

Setting out in the rain and the snow. He was built in the driveway and I guess he's destined to stay there. Maybe I can take G.W.'s big bribe and extend my tiny carriage house garage into a car port this summer.

teardrop shelter

Postby kartvines » Wed Feb 20, 2008 8:14 am

while I was building I used a harbor freight portable garage, but the high winds kept tearing it down. So now I am building a shelter to house it .

In the drive unless hail is threatened, then in the garage. I built her to be outside and it is a great place to sneak away for a book or nap.

I bought a car bubble which is built for outdoor use. It is large enough for two teardrops. I did have an outdoor canopy but our wet, cold winter weather here still takes its toll on anything parked outside. I have a three car garage which Inormally use for cars but right now one bay is being used for constuction of the Guffman.
