What signs?

Oh yeah.....when we're going somewhere pulling the TTT, I'm usually layed back asleep in the passenger seat.

Just kidding.....but I did think they were recommendations, except on I-20 out of Shreveport, when I think they were too high. That highway was so rough, it like to beat me, our truck and trailer to death, If there was something that wasn't bolted on real well, it would now be laying along side that highway.

There's a lot of lore about the 'suggested' speed. A deputy of my local county said that is the speed to drive in the worst of all conditions. The 'double the speed in a chase' story has circulated for years. Of course, when I was a high-school aged driver, I took the double the speed thing as a personal challenge.

I've been a licenced driver by the People's Republic of Oregon since 1973.

White signs are regulatory and yellow are warning...and it's the same anywhere in the US. There is a National standard for all public roads; it's called the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). What stinketh is when juridictions sign stuff incorrectly, then try to enforce bogus signing...
