double trash bag it and toss it inside. Occasionally it get to ride up front with us but with my track record with tire trouble we never leave home without it.

they told me they couldn't patch this one

The offending bolt on the right cut the tire clean in half.
Going down the road " BOOM" fuubble flubble flubble and yes kids it gets better a true bumper jack ( anyone remember them) is worthless lifting a teardrop. I wound up useing a screw type leveling jack and lifted as much as I could and used a rip hammer to dig a hole under the tire to change it.

P.S. you might need a jack too!

Can you say ply seperation !

This one let go internally and the dog leg was so bad it was rubbing the frame and the outside wall ( wheels under) .

Our very 1st outing the shivaree of 08 and -20 windchill .
Its 2 am ( we froze out) and I could smell the burning rubber and no spare. I was set to drag it home on the rim if I had too all 125 miles. :x

I now know a 24 hour wal mart would have had one ready to bolt on( tire on a rim. However, I was a rookie back then

On a shelf attached to the underside of the frame at the rear of the trailer. The extra weight of the spare helps offset the battery in the tongue box. Yes, those are huge zip ties (175lb tensile strength each) securing the spare to the shelf. Seems to be real solid and tight.

You selection of locations needs to include "garage" since that is where I stupidly left my spare last weekend when getting together with the Great Lakes Chapter group at Fort Custer. Fortunately, nothing bad happened.
Because I added a battery box and a toolbox on the front of my Little Guy 6-wide, the normal place to mount it doesn't work so I will simply have to remember to put it in my Wrangler every time I go out with the trailer.

Ya have more room for campin' goodies if you leave them both home.

HOWEVER, it can get expensive.

The fourth and final (!) place for mine is on the back, resting on the bumper. Those are carriage bolts and can only be released from inside.

I've created brackets for 2 spare tyres. Both under the frame. One at the front, the other the rear. So I can adjust the balance if needed.

Probably the best advice added to the thread! ! ! How are you gonna jack iy up? I never use the factory stuff, I always have a $20 floor jack in the Tow Veh and some 2x4 pieces to stack under it if it is ever too low.

Right now I don't have a spare, but will by the end of the month trip since it is a "3 hour tour" and it will be sitting in the bed of the truck until I get to that feature, but I really like the underbody shelf, clip the zip ties and slide it out! Very nice idea!

I have a 13" that fits all my trailers bolt patterns....tire sizes don't however, but don't bother to carry it unless it's a thing to Minden. When I camp with Steve E, I have a spare, it rides in his truck as long as he doesn't ditch me I'm OK. Doug

I have one of the "doughnut" spares that fits my TD, it resides in the underbed storage.

I placed mine under the galley. I just have to remember to check the air now and again.-Wayne 8)
