i JUST FOUND OUT THE OTHER DAY THAT MY SON WOULD LIKE TO BORROW THE TEAR IN THE SUMMMER,(sorry,hit the cap lock), but was afraid to ask me if he could use it...... I confronted him and said he could, then he asked me if he could use the jeep too, because his car won't pull it. Of course I said NO............

This is an interesting poll. I have offered to let my responsible friends use the TD....but they always say No Thanks. They don't want to take the chance of something happening to it. They know who hard I worked on it.

My Dad has used the TD without me.. but that doesn't count. I consider it his also cause he helped me build it.

I've lent many of my Teardrops to my kids and other family members many times over the years and never have had a problem.

And will probably continue to do so.

My Teardrop is just a thing. I have insurance and I know how to fix em'.

When it comes to Trailer or Family...Family always wins.

My Daddy (like Forest Gump's Mother) used to say, "Neither a borrower nor lender be." I try to follow that advice. If Dad found it "necessary" to borrow his motto was "If it breaks buy a new one to return" and "return in better shape than it was borrowed if it doesn't break."

Last week my neighbor brought his chop saw over and insisted I use it to cut some re-bar for a retaining wall. When returned it was rubbed down with Rem Oil, all moving joints oiled, and had a new "blade" on it.

I find only a few with this attitude so, NO, I try not to loan or borrow.

Like Len, my family is an exception to this rule.

Daddy had another saying, "Best way to lose a friend is to loan/borrow something to/from them."

Just doesn't make for good relationships.

Have to agree with Jackdaw, there are maybe 3 or 4 people I would loan the Escapod to.

I have learnt by sore experience how little most people care for others' possessions and would be very wary of lending something I had put so much heart and sweat into.

To loan or not depends on how the friend takes care of his or her own stuff. For most people I know it is a no. Funny thing is they are the ones that ask to borrow.

I guess my answer would be absolutely. I know my friends and trust them, or I would not be friends with them. As to worrying about something happening to it, well worrying never changed anything so it's a waste of time.

Kenny would loan it out no problem. I would like to think that I would loan it to my friends and family but like Geron I was raised that you dont borrow and you dont loan so it is hard for me to do.

Build ugly, thats what I did, then no one wants to borrow it, if they did they would be glad to hear me say NO. Jim G

Depends on the friend and the circumstances but, yes, I would and I have.

I would lend it to my wifes brother who helped build it. And my best friend and his wife cause I know if they broke something hed fix it. It means so much to the wife and I. But I guess if family really needed I would. So I guess I should rethink my answer. Lol. Yes I would.
