Color question

Postby stomperxj » Fri Apr 24, 2009 2:37 pm

I am starting to think about colors and originally I thought white would be best but a friend suggested I paint the trailer to match the metallic red of my Jeep. I haven't decided yet and polls are fun so give me some input

White:

Red:

Thanks!

If you can match the Jeep paint accurately, go for it. But, if you aim at that color and miss, it might clash.

Red is that kind of color.

I tend to favor red :D (won't show the dirt as bad either)

If you could match it, the red would match your jeep and look nice. :)

But, according to information posted elsewhere on this forum, the white would stay cooler. 8)

Plus, red is known to oxidize easily. The red on the jeep and the red on the trailer my react differently when it comes to that. Thus, they might change to different shades or coloring down the road.... :x

Alternative: Why not paint it white and red?! That way, the part that is closest to the sun (the top) could reflect heat and any red accents would not have to match your jeep exactly to look good. Of course, this challenges you to put your thinking cap on and come up with a design that you'd like.....

I would not paint it white, I would paint it to match my tow, like I did.

It's going to get hot if you paint it red.

+3. If you can't match the color it won't look right all red.

Thanks for all the replies everyone...

I called a paint shop today. I got the paint code off of the Jeep and 1 quart of Chilli pepper red single stage urethane paint is about $62...

Seems like I need to incorporate some red so here's some graphics I tried:

Still not sure but I think I like a little bit of red on there...

I like the second one with a little more red. I think that the darker color on the bottom grounds the trailer aesthetically. Sweet!!!

Wow! I don't think you could wrong with either or your last two examples. That combination just pops! With the red on the bottom, it will help hide the travel dirt, too.
