I'm like everyone else. I don't have an accent. But I had a hard time ordering a cheeseburger in Boston.
In reality, I'm just pure Okie. (But get me mad and a cross of southern and redneck sure comes through!)

Mine is mostly western from being raised in the Northwest. However if I get tired or have a few, I slip into a more southern accent. I can only attribute this as growing up with a Georgian best friend and hanging out with the southern crews when I was in the Service.

A fun side note is that my wife can do 31 accents from the last count and speaks mostly in a western accent.

I guess it depends on what part of Chicago. Down around the Bridgeport area ya got alot of Irish, near the UofI circle ya got yer Italians. I came from the nort side where there were alot of Germans. And yeah, my relatives are Polish too. Sheboyganers (Sheboganese?) have a pretty distinctive way of talking too, doncha know?

I once thought that foreigners could not tell the difference between American and Canadian accents, but when I was in England, when I was frequently asked what part of Canada I was from. I don't wear clothes with text logos and while I may have had an Ottawa Valley accent when I was younger, I don't consider it that unique. go figger
