Did your trailer weigh more or less than you expected?

Just wondering how people's estimations came out AFTER the project was built. It's not a value judgment on your estimating "skills" so lets be honest,

I over estimated my weight, no adverse effects, just thought it would weigh more. I might be wrong if I ever get it weighed at a weigh station.

Came in about 50 pounds heavier than I expected. Still can't figure out where it came from.

At 1720 lb's it was still lighter than I thought it would be, it's built like a tank and I figured it would easily top 2,000

Put it on the scales yesterday after we got back from IRG, but before unloading. My little trailer   weight in at 1900 lbs. More than I thought it would be............
OH well, still love it anyway.

I want to get mine "Officially" weighed now... I think I will do that once the oven cools down, I just don't see with what I am hearing how mine can be 800, but thinking about the materials it seems possible, just not comparing to others. I think doing the 3/4 plywood only walls maybe helps the weight, I dunno.

The only Trailer I've ever done that I checked weight on was a restoration of a Totaled 1966 13' Scotty.

Before

After

I did about as dead on restoration as I could with 1 exception, an EPDM roof.

I knew that may have been a "Few" lbs more...maybe 15 or 20.

But the trailer came in at over 100lbs more than the Manufactures Original weight.

The only other single thing I can think of that would have been a major part of this weight was Paint.

Just a guess though.

Still at under 1100lbs I think is Pretty Good.

Happy Trails

I refuse to weigh mine--as a southern gentleman, I feel it is indelicate to ever mention age or weight. Yeah, I stick with that one.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Original plan - 1100-1200#. Revised estimate - 1300-1400#. If I ever get it done, I'll weigh it and respond to the poll. (I'm hoping for around 1200-1300#.)

Original plan was under 1000lbs
current weight 985 lbs
so that ain't gonna happen, but I'm probably less than 100 lbs from completion
