Hmmmm. A drag-racing Gremlin with AMC's Trans-am racing colors (aka: Mark Donohue AMX colors).

The straight six Gremlins were not fast, but have enough torque to pull a TD. Of course, I could drop a modern small-block into one.

CD

Not yet.

Look for some new Deisel models from Europe and Japan in the 2008 model year. And, very impressive ones, at that.

Audi makes TDi models that easily outperform a lot of gasoline engines.

Honda is going to bring over an Accord TDi.

VW has new TDi models coming on 08.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee will be available in a few months with the Mercedes TDi V6 from the E-Class -- I've already driven that Jeep TDi at Chrysler's proving grounds, and it was impressive.

I expect that the Mercedes TDi will make it into their full-sized cars, too, since those cars are based on Mercedes E-Class platforms. Look forward to a 300C and Charger TDi in the future.

GM and Ford? Who knows. Seems it is easier to close factories than to develop new products. (sigh)

CD

BTW, to answere someone's question, I work for American Driver Media -- American Driver (new publication), and Texas Driver Magazine.

I got a chuckle out of your sig photo. I have owned a few boats, and had full-sized pickups to pull them. When I got rid of my last boat, I had a SeaDoo PWC. Pulling it with my FS Silverado always looked funny to me.

Mostly a '95 Nissan Hardbody PU... Unless I'm in a hurry?

Then a '77 Firebird 400, 4 speed, 30 over, 10.5-1 comp., Comp.Cams
305 duration, somewhat over 500 hp. Likes hi-test, and lots of it!

As soon as I got 500 miles on it, I pulled it with this.
