Trail-Hopper XT Offroad Sketchup File

Postby AlexTutt » Tue Feb 28, 2012 9:20 pm

Well since I probably won't be able to build it in the foreseeable future, I thought I'd share my digital handiwork :) I present to you the TrailHopper XT! (XT = expedition tear) I designed it so that the track width, wheel base, and tires all match my Grand Cherokee TV. It also has plenty of ground clearance and a pretty heavy frame so that I can drag it through the backcountry and still have all the comforts of home. Comforts such as a queen bed, A/C (gotta have it in Texas), 20 gallon water tank, Water pump, RV outdoor shower faucet (not shown) slide out fridge. This design was partly borrowed from "The Dog House" build (I love the way the front box was integrated allowing it to be shorter overall, which is important off road) *EDIT* I went ahead and uploaded it as an attachment

Nice Modeling.
Tip: Name your groups or components for esier hideing and unhiding. Or you could put your groups on layers to turn on and off.
Thanks for sharng.

Beautiful design. I absolutly love the design of this.

I have a few questions for you.

1st. It looks like you vented the AC out through the floor. Could this actually work?

Also,

I am very new to sketchup. Is there a file or setting or would I need a file from you to see mesurements?

I love it! Very similar to what I'd like to build! What does the frame look like? More to the point, the suspension/axle parts? its a beauty! -Al
