Is there any way to convert the measurements over to metric easily?

I may build one of these. :D

Cheers
Paul

You can do this fairly easily in SketchUp although you do have to know where to find it. Open the SketchUp model then navigate through these menus:

Window -> Preferences -> Template

Change the measurements from feet and inches to meters or millimeters.

Hi Ryan,

thanks for the reply. Unfortunately your directions didn't change from imperial to metric.

Perhaps there is no way to do it after a model has been made in inches.

Thanks again mate. :(

Here is the file with millimetre measurements. Hope this helps.

The correct path to change dimensions is:

Window -> Model Info -> Units
Then select Decimal as the Format type. Then select the the unit of measurement that you want to use.

Thank you so much Dan. You are a champion.

This will make it alot easier to build now I don't have to manually convert measurements over.

Cheers mate

Paul

ps. I tried that path and in my sketchup 8 free version I don't have "Model Info" in the path.

pss: I just took another look and the path should be "Windows/Model Info/Units". Thanks again mate.

You are correct on the right patch. I copied and pasted from an earlier post and did not delete the Preferences part. (I edited my earlier post to maybe not confuse anyone else.)

Make sure to start a build thread and post lots of pictures.

Thanks Fyddler for posting that link.

I didn't see it until after I saw Dan's post.

Somehow I never received and email to tell me that you guys had posted replies. I better check my email settings are correct in the user control panel.

Thanks guys.

Dan could you please tell me what the idea of the sunken floor section just in front of the toilet.

Is it meant to be stood in?

I am concerned any great weight in there may go through the floor.

Cheers

That is the purpose. If you are concerned about weight you could add some small angle iron supports under the drop floor section. That is what I decide to do on my build. Really simple to do and does add support.

Yes, Foamie or hybrid foamie.

It's a great design.
