Fender Welt or Clear Caulk for Fender Seam?

Postby Dusty Mark » Sat Jun 11, 2016 10:08 pm

I attached my fenders this week and am not too happy with the tiny gaps that appear along the edge where the fender meets the side wall. I picture them as a big collector of grit. Do people a) caulk this with clear caulk or b) use old fashioned fender welt to fill the gap?

I've always used black fender welt as it gives a classic look and works so well.
