Hello, I am thankful for this website as I continue to build my off road camper trailer. I am covering the plywood with PMF and prior to the application of the drop cloth, I roughed up the surface with coarse sandpaper and used this trick for petter penetration of the glue that bonds the drop cloth to the plywood.
if you go down to a Tandy leather store you can obtain a "spur", the coarser the better. This handy tool is used for marking in leather for consistent stitches. It works great for penetrating the plywood's' outer layer so your glue adheres to a greater depth. It takes a little while to make a complex pattern ina sheet of plywood with this single "rowel" tool, but increases the surface area significantly for better adhesion. This site has been so helpful to me, I feel this simple, cheap tool can be of benefit to those who frequent TNTT forums.

In a larger area a wallpaper tool might be more efficient.
