PMF seam along wooden door frame

Postby Joe4Camping » Sat May 26, 2018 4:54 pm

I am building a foamie, and plan on gluing in a wood frame for the door opening. My question has to do with applying PMF along the seam where wood is glued to foam.

Is the consensus to :

1) wrap both the outer wall and the wood frame with PMF
2) wrap just the foam body with PMF, then glue the wood frame to the foam/canvas

or

3) apply the PMF along the face of the outer foamie wall and the outer edge of the wood frame, and cut the PMF away from the door opening

Just curious about folks' experiences....

Here's what I did....
I canvased the walls, and then cut the openings with enough extra to fold over.

I did the same where there was wood, just canvased over it.
