Moulding Questions

I am on my second Classic TD Build. I used the old aluminum moulding on my first build around the entire TD. I have a question about moulding. I have seen several finished TD's that have been varnished/painted that have not used moulding for the top, sides or hatch. The look is nice and clean. If moulding is not used, how and what is used for the joints between 1/4" Oak Ply on the top and 3/4" Play walls? Any thoughts or suggestions would be great! Thanks and Gig' Em!

On my first build I soaked my plywood (sides and top) in an epoxy/acetone mix and when it cured I used a router with a round-off bit to radius the edges. More epoxy mix, some hand sanding and it turned into a nice edge that was pretty solid. After painting it the radius made it almost look like it was made from fiberglass.

I intend on doing the exact same thing on the TTT I am building now.

I did something similar. Glue the top to sides with a strong gap filling glue, then use a trim router to get a nice clean edge by removing deliberate overhang.Image
