Ultralight/Little Grumman?

I posted a pic of my current build on Andrew's Grumman thread a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to create a little interest. I used the ultralight profile, went 4 1/2 wide with the wheels tucked half way under and 4" wide fenders. It may not be exact but it sure makes me think little Grumman. What a cool profile.
I've been building and prefinishing parts all winter and was finally able to put them together this week. The cabin is pretty much complete and now I'm ready to run some wire and fit up the hatch. Here's what it looks like now.
Couldn't wait, had to see the big picture

Thanks Mike,
You know if you and Andrew hadn't done such a great job developing this profile I would have perfectly happy with my kit. It will be a while before I find out if it camps as well as the kit but it sure looks cool. If I can find affordable local aluminum I'll be set. Otherwise it will get shot with metallic silver and trimmed with al.
Thanks again for all the effort you put into it.

Denny--great job on a beautiful trailer. I love the trim work. You'll definitely get a well deserved share of compliments. Congratulations on your completion. :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

Tony,
Thanks for the applause, very much appreciated. It has to be for this trailer Image
I thought the album might be confusing as it contains pictures of my first build and the current one. I added "first trailer" to the titles of #1 and "ultralight/little gru" to the titles of the current build pics. Hope this cleans things up a bit.

Well, yes--the compliments were on your first trailer. Now, let me compliment you on the work on the 2nd since I didn't pay attention the first time.

The second is looking every much as impressive as the first. Nice work on the fenders!

Denny,

On your woodie, do you have that covered with fiberglass and then spar urethane?

MJ,
Thanks it's not quite so airish now. The wife's liking it better.

Mike,
No fiberglass on the woody. Just a couple coats of cpes and 10-12 coats of helmsman thinned down and wiped on.

Bob,
Thanks, as for the shop, I have a very supportive wife.

Well it's finally road worthy. Not really ultra light, weighed 1050 fully loaded and probably not a Grumman either but she sure is fun to take on the road. [imgImage[/img]
