A big weekender?

Postby Bad-Dawg » Mon Nov 19, 2007 3:39 pm

I have a trailer frame now, pics in my album. It's currently 10.5' long and 46" wide on the inside of the wheel. I procured enough iron for free to lengthen it 2 feet with Box to match the 1.5" x 3" frame. I also got a bunch of 1" box to use for cross members. Here is what I want to do with it. Stretch and widen the weekender plans to 5.5' x 10' x 5' tall and mount it on this trailer. That way it will be big enough to throw in a cross ways bunk for my 8 year old. Kind of a weekender 2+2... I might even go with a poptop as I think I could do that without adding much weight or difficulty.

Has anybody made a big weekender yet? If so can you direct me on where to look? Or, has anybody done plans for this they care to share? Also, do you think if I do this and keep the kitchen add ons small and light, will I keep under my 1200Lbs payload capability?

here is a pic of what I was thinking. Still a lot to do but this is a good template to start with. External Dimensions are 5'6"x5'6"x10'.

Created with Sketchup.
