Hey All,

Got a little done after work today. I had to change up the design in my head. :? Original intent was to have 6 ribs on the hatch but due to lack of planning in reguards to the Camp oven slide out I had to DBL up 2 of them to make room for the length of the stove, now I dont think Im going to have room for the recessed tail lights in the hatch.

A couple of pics for your consumption

haha you know I forgot about my hitch too! I stumbled across one for sale at a metal recycling place, they had a stack of stuff in the corner they took in. They had a big daddy Class 4 hitch or whatever and this little "dinky" class 1 hitch (Classes are made up since I don't feel like getting up, but you get the point), so I went for the little hitch because I don't believe in over kill. I think I got it for like $50 too. Keep your eyes open at pawn shops too believe it or not!

I like what you have done with the hatch, it looks awesome and I laughed out loud when you told the wife it was "on sale"! ! ! CLASSIC!

You have some pretty thick ribs on the hatch and the profile is not too drastic, I think the hatch will be just fine.

Thomas,

I laughed myself when I said it "Ist's O.K. it was on sale" I cant tell you how many times I've herd her say it with a straight face. I picked up some more 2x4's to rip down on the table saw for the hatch cross bracing, picked up some tail lights and a plate light and plate mounting frame and then went over to U-Haul and had them install the hitch...."ERV!... DID YOU CATCH THAT?" I got the hitch put on! :R
Hope to get started on some insulation tomorrow. :running man:

Hi Tony, Thats great, just trying to keep you on the right path.
By the way Happy Birthday ( late ) What kind of lights did you get for the back? I am trying to find a third brake light to put on the hatch. Make it more noticable, see to many people getting hit in the rearend lately. Going to be nice again tomorrow, I might get out and wax the tear tomorrow. Looking forward to the summer. Erv

ERV,

Picked them up at Advanced Auto Parts, the lights are made by Optronics, standard 12v bulb gasketed for a flush mount. I havent picked out my clearence lights or 3rd brake light yet. I may DBL these up 2 each side.
Thanks for the birthday reminder

I am using the same lights, I think they are cool looking and very universal if replacements are ever needed. I am kicking around putting some clear lens lights of this style just underneath the red ones as backup lights. I think they would come in very useful.
