Runlite

Has anyone here attempted to build a Runlite like the one on this page:

It seems pretty neat, and I am guessing it would be fairly light. It uses several curved carlins instead of spars and has battens of thin plywood taked down to them and then covered with muslin (I would use fiberglass now of course) to make a nice domed top. Something like that shot with a nice metallic silver paint would look like a tiny little airstream.

I am just wondering how difficult it would be to get those battens right.
