TEARJERKERS: North meets South gathering (feedback needed)

Postby Ross Wade » Thu Aug 10, 2006 9:27 pm

We would like to thank everyone who attend and made our first North meets South gathering a huge success.

At this time we would like to know of any SUGGESTIONS to make the South meets North 2008 an even BIGGER SUCCESS. As far as we could tell, everything seemed to run smoothly. Are there things you would like to do at the next one....a dutch oven workshop, sport events...such as volley ball...horseshoes ?
What likes and dislikes did you have?

Thanks for any input,
The North Meets South Committee

:applause: Great job done by all. Jusy needed more shade. Who has the leftover T's for sale? If next is larger we will need more tables available and more camping slots.

Ross, the gathering was a huge success in my eyes, and the only fault i had with it was the lack of sweet tea at dinner. :x

but seriously, the only thing I can think of is working out my liver for the next one, and banning Ellen from bringing her damn shots..*lol*

I like the sports thing. Horseshoes. Teams, (man & man, man & woman, woman & woman,) with a double elimination and the winners get a trophy/prize one each. The same could be done with batmitten. I know I didn't spell that right. You know, hit the birdie over the net game.
Just a couple for now.

Still thinkin'

I think we should find another venue. Although Ft. Chiswell is close to I-81. We had no shade, were crammed together in a very small section of that RV park in close proximity to all those large RVs. It would be nice to party hearty without pissing off the other campers. Perhaps we could rent a fairground some place or book an entire small campground someplace. I wouldn't mind driving another 30 or 40 miles off the interstate for a better location.

Thanks to Ross, Len and everyone else involed in putting that meet togather. Barbara and I were new at this group thing and didn't get around much but we met a great bunch of folks.Tom S might have a good idea on looking around for a different spot.

By the way there had to be at least 40 cameras out there I posted over 80 pics. How about some of you guys and girls get off it and show us what you got pics of.
Some days all you can do is smile and wait for some kind soul to come along and pull your ass out the bind you've gotten yourself into.

Iffin' you were there, you would know that there were plenty of pictures taken. The main question ya have to ask about posting them is ya have to go through them all and kinda separate them to keep some of the pictures from the public domain and for possible blackmail down the road.

Actually I have plenty of them, just no time at the moment to go through them  I will add them to the albums later sorry
