Woody: I've been doing some surfing and Little Talbot Island State Park looks real good Its right on the coast at Jacksonville on one of the barrier islands with I 95/10/75 all coming into the area to pull in from the North the south and the east. about 400 miles from me in Fayetteville NC and about 350 I think from Miami. Columbia is about 300. Check out their site and see what you think. I have no idea what the weather is like there in Feb but it has to be better than here at that time. What do you Carolina folks think ? And Woody; Pisgah wasn't just fun it was great.

Alan

I was looking at Anastasia State park by St. Augustine on the floridastateparks.org site. The reviews I read looked good. I was considering that as well. I will check out little Talbot state park as well. Give me a couple of seconds.

A barrier Island in winter might be cold. I have a cousin that lives in Jacksonville area I will have give her a call to find out the weather at that time of the year.

It really depends on the cold fronts that pass thru that time of the year. I live by Ft. Lauderdale and it can get a wee bit nippy at times here. That is why I moved here 18 years ago. I am originally from Iowa (lower Siberia) and that is cold. Since I have been here I devoloped a new motto "I will never be colder than my Beer again"

Okay, Little Talbot Island or Anastasia State Parks. They both look good. Talbot according to their site only has 40 sites which services all the Talbot state park areas and the other has 139 sites. They both are near the ocean. I have not had a chance to call them yet. I will do that tomorrow. When in Feb. is good. I have a BSA campout I think in Feb., I am not sure of the date. I will call both parks and find out info. and relay it you guys

You have two of the Carolinas Crew so get your Florida folk lined up. Chip: If we leave Myrtle beach and drive slowly south we don't even hav to go home. Woody: Why don't you start a new thread for this called North Florida in Feb or something so it catches the eye.
