December at the Beach

Postby ALAN GEDDES » Tue Oct 26, 2004 5:33 pm

:D Getting this away from the Pisgah thread. Let's go to Myrtle Beach State Park for the weekend of 4 and 5 Dec. Wanda and I will be staying through Monday the 6th as she can't get down there until late Sat night after work. I'll be towing with the old 69 Beetle so I don't want to go too far on the first trip with it. If we get more than five participants I've got the chili covered for dinner. It must have been good because it sure went fast. Everbody check in here and I will get the Park info posted tomorrow. Alan

I'm hoping to get away from Michigan soon...

My vacation starts Dec 18th. And although I have to be up here somewhere for Christmas, is anything going on that I can get to that doesn't take a million days to drive to?

Mike...

Myrtle Beach state Park is on Kings Hwy/Hwy 17; 4 miles south of the main strip just past the airport. Rates are $17.00 per night and water and electric are available. Call 843-238-5325 for reservations. I will call and see about a block together after the weekend when we have an idea of how many we will need. For the water buffs it is only a 3 or 4 minute walk to the surf. Looker/thinkers/builders and daytrippers welcome. Alan

Hey Chip,

The shrimp sounds good but I'll pass on the frogs! Alan's chilly sure was good too, I had two bowls just to make sure. It would be nice to get us all together. Just have to wait and see how many want to come.

Unfortunately, it is my birthday on the 4th, so I can't get away then..and someone told me the Edisto beach campground is pretty nice, just for future information.

Let's look at Edisto after the first of the year. Maybe those Florida guys can get something together during our worst weather that won't be to far away. Sorry you can't make it Jim so I'll say "Happy Birthday" now. Alan

Sounds mighty fine Alan. Carla and I will make our reservations.

Looks like this could be fun. Darla and I are interested in joining in. Are there going to be sites we are going to be together? When should I make reservations?

Just got off the phone with Myrtle Beach State Park. DO NOT make reservations. This time of year will have over 200 unreserved spots. No guarentee that reserved spots will be together. Was told that there should be no problem getting 6 to 10 sites as we pull in. If I have fairly solid number by the 3rd of Dec I can get us together when I get there on that Friday morning. :D ALAN AND WANDA :D
