Turns out we may be going to Cloudland Canyon in the middle of Feb. We had been planning on a trip to FDR to camp with Siberian Huskies and hike the trails. But on our hike this weekend, another member mentioned that he went to Cloudland for day hiking last week and said it was beautiful. So we thought we'd try that (also so maybe some TN folks can join us) and have changed our plans, and hope to have our Siberian club campout at Cloudland instead! We are trying to firm up the dates - either Feb 16th or Feb 23rd.

Marvin and Jennifer,
We are still wanting to make this trip. Unfortunately, at this time, I am not able to commit at this time. The High Point Furniture Market is right around the corner and my schedule is getting backed up. I have a few clients that I build custom furniture for :hammer: and this is their BIG showing.

At this point, I would have to say , that we probably won't be able to make this trip in March. However.....we will make the trip sometime before the season is done. Maybe late Summer or early Fall.

We barring problems are going to try to make it out there the weekend of the 17th of March.
Hopefully a few more teardropers can make it up that weekend.

Well it's not looking good for us either, Like Jim said that's St Patty's Day here and the company that Melanie work's for has a big party for there customer's that day. Plus my boss walked in this week and said he is leaving for another job. That dumped everything in my lap.
Looking forword to seeing everyone in May

We had a wonderful time at Cloudland Canyon this weekend. We got a nice site in the western rim campground. Had gorgeous weather Saturday for a hike on the Western Rim trail. Beautiful views! We also went on the East rim to check out the waterfalls. The dogs did great as well. We had three sites, three Siberian Huskies and a Malamute. So it was a snow dog weekend!!

The weather did get a little nasty Saturday. The wind kicked up pretty good in the evening, so we had to do the margaritas inside the T@B. Rain was predicted so we packed a bunch of stuff up to keep dry, just leaving out our QuikShade. About midnight the rain came in pretty hard, but it is nice sleeping to the sound of rain :) Thankfully the rain stopped about dawn, and the rest of the day was gorgeous! With the sun and some breeze, the QuikShade got dried out pretty quick, so we didn't have to pack anything up wet. We checked out about 1pm to head home.

So a successful weekend at Cloudland Canyon, and we would definitely recommend this park! Sorry that other teardrops couldn't join us this weekend.

Yes we did! Whew, lots of stairs!! My poor Siberian sure had trouble. First, the stairs kind of freaked her out a little since you could see through the metal "mesh". Then after going down to #1 falls, and then #2 falls, she was whooped and almost didn't make it back up the stairs from #2! My poor baby! But she was a trooper and got back OK with lots of encouragement. She slept the rest of the weekend!!
