Just got word that hubby has to work at least until lunch tomorrow, so we'll be up there later than expected, probably more like dinner time. Hope we don't have to set up in the dark!!! Wish we were retired!!!

Well, dang it!!! There is something conspiring against me!!

We won't be able to make it at all now. My husband's father had a stroke this afternoon. He's OK, (although wrecked the car since he was driving atthe time!!) but definitely needs some assistance right now. My husband needs to be around this weekend to help out his mom and take his dad back to the doctor and maybe a specialist tomorrow. Even though my husband said I could go without him, I just wouldn't feel right. I think I need to be with him to help out as well. I am soooooo extremely disappointed!!! I have been looking forward to this since February!!! But family comes first.

So, if there is still anyone around online that is going, and not in the Apple Tree Loop, our site 037 is available and paid for. If you want it, let me know tonight. Otherwise, I'll call in the morning to cancel the reservation and request that if any tears come in to give them our spot.

I will really miss you all. I so wanted to meet y'all and hang with yas!!!! I will definitely try another time.

Cheryl

Update 10/19 - I called the campground this morning and asked them to place any teardrop that hadn't been able to get an Apple Tree Loop reservation in our site . I'll be missing you this weekend!!

I made it home safely in 8 1/2 hours. Had a great time and really enjoyed my new Teardrop. Thanks for all the help, especially Saturday night. Jim, I think I left a white plastic plate, fork and a spoon at the dinner. Just hold on to it and bring it to the next gathering. Thanks for letting me tag along on the trip up there. :applause:

Enjoyed Meeting Folks

Postby Alfred » Sun Oct 21, 2007 8:55 pm

Hi Gang!

Got home this afternoon from the Fall Crawl (It was only about 40 minutes from Asheville). We got there late on Saturday, and we were a ways down the road in the Hemlock Loop, so we didn't get to see as many teardrops or meet as many of you as we would have liked. Tent camped this time, but hope to have a Teardrop built for the May gathering!

It was nice meeting everyone that we did meet, and I especially wanted to thank Alan Geddes and Bob D. for giving me tours of their teardrops. Alan for all the great build tips and for letting me see my first teardrop up close.

Wow! Now I really can't wait to start a build!

Thanks, AL Lyons in Asheville

Hi, All,
We made it home Monday afternoon with no problems at all, it did rain just as we finished packing and from Knoxville on down.
Had a large time as always and the extra day made it nice.
Great to see new faces and the old and really old ones too.
Unless things change we won't make it to FL. for the next one.
So see everyone the next time we get together.
