Florida Chapter of the Tear Jerkers first gathering:

When: Feb.11 - 13, 2005

Where: Little Talbot Island State Park

Location: 20 miles from downtown Jacksonville, Florida. Little Talbot Island is one of the few remaining undeveloped, barrier islands in Northwest Florida. The entire island is 2500 acres and is a State Park

Directions Take I -95 to Heckscher Drive (milepost exit 358A – old Exit 124A and then travel east for 17 miles

Park Fees Camping Fees $19.00 per day for full campsites. All sites have 15 and 30 amp electric and water. Dump station is available Call 1 -866 – 422 -6735 or 1-800 -326 – 3521 for reservations
They said to bring/buy firewood off site it is cheaper than buying it there, They have plenty of sites available. Let them know that you are part of a group, so we can be some what in the same area.

I got my reservation and site #'s. I will be in site #3, they said they have 8 sites in a row 1-8 and 11-17 it is a loop were they are. They will only allow one trailer per site and a tent. Eight people total per site. Now if there are tent campers and someone only has a trailer or a tent it can be shared as long as it does not exceed the eight person limit. Check in is at 3:00pm if arriving later than that you need to call the park to let them know. Checkout is 1:00 pm on sunday. Phone number for reservations is 1-800-326-3521 and tell them you are with a group, so we do not get to scattered

This is not going to be a good time for me. It's right in the middle of my work season and I can't take vacation during the winter months. Plus I don't think I'll have my 2nd tear done at that time and the mini-hopper is in Ga.

I will try and drive up to meet everyone and spend a day there so keep me posted.

TO DO: Visit, talk. make or renew friends, look at and discuss Tears, relax, take a walk, enjoy the scenery, read a book and a pot luck if we get a another Tear or two. TO DON'T: Watch TV, listen to a radio, hear a cell phone, get rained on.

Looking foward to meeting you both, It sounds pretty simple to get there. Only a passport for a good time I think is totally required

I am not sure but I think that is more of a spring thing down here. That time of year I think it is still to cool for them yet. Man my teardrop will have a funny look though if that is the case. The perfect thing about that time of year is the lack of any large amounts of bugs especially if cold fronts come through
